Behind the Byline: Writing for We Like Sewing

I'm excited to share that my article "Fashion Flashback: Recreating a Lace Trimmed Camisole" has been published in the May 2026 issue of We Like Sewing! Writing for We Like Sewing has been on my dream list for a while. A former client, Traci at Anno and Pum Patterns, has had a few patterns published there and I did the sample sewing and pattern editing for her (Cora Spring Skirt and Denali Oversized Turtleneck). It was super cool to see my sewing online in a magazine, and now it's even better to have my own article with it.

My project is inspired by early 2000s lace-trimmed camis. The ones we Millenials wore as our emotional support camis under everything, or on their own. This fashion has come back around and my teen daughter has been stealing my OG early aughts camis. So, I decided to hack a pattern and make her a new one.

Find the full article and tutorial at We Like Sewing now! We Like Sewing (and their sister magazine, We Like Quilting) is one of the most widely read resources in the online sewing community. It's filling a gap left by print magazines that have closed their doors in recent years. Be sure to support the spaces you want to see stay around! If you're interested in writing for them, they put out submission calls a few times a year. Find out more here.

And stay tuned later this year for a top secret project of mine that will be featured in We Like Quilting!
